Social media strategy tips

Tuesday 13 October 2015

When putting together a social media strategy, you need to keep a few things in mind. Here are a few tips that can help you to keep focused and achieve your aims:

Firstly, ensure that you create an authentic voice. Social media is just one of the ways to connect with people online, but if you can ensure that your presence is consistent you should be able to get maximum results. Your voice online should be making sure that you are catering to the audience that you are trying to reach. Including photos and videos that catch the eye is a good start.

Secondly, ensure that you become good at content curation. This is the way that you research information and put together the right combination of content to attract the right audience. There are apps that can help you to do this. Active content curation can help to deal with the issue of social media writer’s block. You can also use this to show off your expert knowledge on your subject. Why not get started with a site like Pinterest? You can practise organising content into various boards and you can pin content from other sites directly to your site.

Thirdly, remember that a multiplatform approach is the best way forward with social media. Why limit yourself to one social media site? There are a number of different sites out there and opting for more than one can help you to reach a far greater number of people.
