Technical Support Engineer

We are currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Technical Support Team. Reporting to the Technical Support Team Leader, the role includes providing technical support to customers while maintaining a high standard of customer service and being a mentor for the team members.

We have thousands of customers in the UK and overseas using our shared web hosting, dedicated servers, VPS, colocation and cloud hosting services.With two privately owned data centres and staff on-site 24/7/365, CWCS has an excellent reputation for delivering enterprise-class hosting combined with some of the best customer service and technical support in the UK hosting industry.

    Role Summary

    This role includes day and night shift work.

    Reporting to the Technical Support Team Leader, the Senior Technical Support Engineer’s role is to provide technical support to customers whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service, and being a mentor for the team members.

    Key functions to the role include:

    • Customer Service Delivery – including prompt response and problem resolution to all hosting customers, meeting service level agreements, providing clear and efficient communication with customers and ensuring efficient and effective use of the ticketing system
    • Team Participation – ensuring a culture of team working within CWCS by carrying out a variety of technical duties and working closely with other team members to ensure overall team performance
    • Support Engineer Responsibilities – providing assistance to junior team members and new staff to ensure overall development of the team

    CWCS Managed Hosting is certified to the information security standard ISO 27001 and you will follow our information security procedures at all times.

    Skills and Experience

    • To be successful in this role you will need at least three years’ experience working in a managed hosting or similar IT technical support role.
    • You must be a strong team player, customer and solutions-focussed, and able to work on your own as well as in a team.
    • Essential skills include a working knowledge of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), Windows 2008/2012, IIS and DNS, as well as cPanel and/or Plesk support skills.
    • A background in Cisco ASA, switching, routing with possibly a CCNA qualification would be an advantage, as would knowledge of Bash scripting, VMware, KVM, Xen or MS SQL admin. In addition, demonstrable skills in AD, Exchange, PHP/ASP.net or Cisco ASA VPN would be a bonus, as would MCITP or MCSE certification.

Systems Administrator

We are currently looking for a System Administrator, to system management and maintenance to the IT operations element of the business whilst maintaining high levels of security and customer service.

    We are now adding to our team with the recruitment of a Systems Administrator.

    Role Summary:

    The role will provide system management and maintenance to the IT operations element of the business whilst maintaining high levels of security and customer service. You will be required to carry out the following functions:

    • Resolution of escalated technical queries by telephone and email
    • Server provisioning, custom scripts, and migrations, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget
    • Monitor the network and resolve issues appropriately
    • Oversee the regular auditing and patching of core and customer systems
    • Perform routine audits of systems and software

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to quality and information systems standards and a strong technical aptitude and ability to research and resolve complex issues. You will be self-motivated and keen to work as part of a team.

    Further requirements are:

    • Linux and Windows administrative knowledge
    • Virtualisation and virtual machine management including, VMWare and KVM (Xen and Hyper-V advantageous)
    • Database administration including MySQL (MariaDB) and MS-SQL
    • Familiarity with open source tools
    • Ability to learn new technologies

    A Cisco or Microsoft certification would be advantageous. A full driving licence and evidenced right to work in the UK are pre-requisites for this role.

Account Manager

  • The role will suit someone that has experience in handling both inbound sales enquiries and Account Management. Offering a friendly, consultative selling approach, your role is to generate new revenue and to ensure we support our clients, offering the very best customer experience.

    The main functions to the role are split into four main categories: Sales Generation, Sales Management, Account Management and Reporting. You will be required to maintain our high standards of security, ensuring we continue to meet and exceed the strict ISO 27001 and 9001 regulations.

    You will have 2 years’ experience in a New Business or Account Management in B2B markets a proven sales record and a valid driving licence.

    You’ll need to be well presented, trustworthy, punctual, have good attention to detail and a logical approach to problem solving. You’ll be keen to apply your current skills and to take this opportunity to learn and grow. Career progression will be planned out and will include internal and external training.
