Role Overview

The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading and developing the marketing function across CWCS Managed Hosting and associated brands. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring marketing activity delivers measurable growth, high-quality lead generation, brand awareness, and an exceptional customer experience.

Working closely with the Senior Management Team and Sales Department, the Marketing Manager will be accountable for the development and management of the marketing strategy, marketing performance, budget management, campaign delivery, and the development of the Marketing Team.

The successful candidate will bring creativity, commercial awareness, and a strong understanding of customer experience (UX), using innovative ideas and effective marketing campaigns to drive engagement, generate demand, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Own and deliver the overall marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Take full accountability for marketing performance, reporting progress against agreed KPIs and objectives.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and develop marketing initiatives that support commercial goals.
  • Promote a marketing-led culture across the business and champion customer-centric thinking.

Lead Generation & Growth

  • Develop and execute lead generation strategies across PPC, SEO, GEO, email marketing, social media, events, partnerships, and outbound campaigns.
  • Drive website performance, conversion optimisation, and customer journey improvements through data analysis and UX best practices.
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure marketing activity generates high-quality opportunities and contributes to pipeline growth.
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimise activity to maximise ROI and cost efficiency.

Brand, Content & Customer Experience

  • Manage and develop the CWCS brand, ensuring consistency across all channels and communications.
  • Lead the creation of compelling content, campaigns, case studies, thought leadership, and customer communications.
  • Oversee the company’s digital presence, including websites, social media, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Introduce creative ideas and innovative approaches to strengthen brand awareness, engagement, and customer experience.
  • Ensure all customer touchpoints reflect CWCS values and deliver a positive user experience.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, support, and develop the marketing team, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Set clear objectives, provide coaching and mentoring, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Ensure team members have the tools, training, and guidance required to achieve individual and departmental goals.
  • Allocate resources effectively and manage workload priorities across the team.

Reporting, Budget & Supplier Management

  • Manage the marketing budget and ensure effective allocation of resources.
Report on marketing performance, lead generation, campaign effectiveness, website metrics, and return on investment.
  • Present regular updates and recommendations to the Senior Management Team.
Manage relationships with agencies, suppliers, and external partners, ensuring value, quality, and performance standards are achieved.
  • Stay informed of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging marketing technologies.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 10 years, proven experience in a Marketing Manager or Senior Marketing role within a B2B environment.
  • Strong understanding of lead generation, digital marketing, content marketing, and marketing automation.
  • Experience managing and developing marketing teams.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SEO, PPC, LinkedIn, email marketing, analytics, and website optimisation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Commercially focused with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience using data and customer insights to improve user experience and campaign performance.

Personal Attributes

  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh ideas and innovative marketing approaches.
  • Strong eye for customer experience and user journey optimisation.
  • Results-driven and accountable for delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborative leader who enjoys supporting and developing others.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Commercially minded with a strong understanding of how marketing contributes to business growth.

What we offer:

  • Competitive base salary, dependent on experience.
  • Performance-related bonus element.
  • Primarily office based in Nottingham (Beeston) with some hybrid flexibility.
  • Real ownership of a marketing function, not a number in a large team.
  • A business genuinely committed to growth, with a SLT who understands what good marketing looks like.

To apply, please send your CV and a short covering note to [email protected], specifically outlining your sector experience in managed hosting, MSP, cloud, colocation or cyber security, and your approach to B2B lead generation.
